BATTERY-HFF DOMESTIC [AM]
Victim: W GOUGH
Location: N I 164, EVANSVILLE IN
On 10/31/14 at approximately 1307, deputies were dispatched to the area of 12600 N I-164 reference a general complaint. Upon arrival, deputies began speaking with involved parties to ascertain what happened. I first spoke with the victim, Whitney Gough. Gough stated she was driving with her boyfriend, Lance Johnson, when they began to argue over a cell phone. She said they have been living together for approximately 3 weeks. She said he made a comment about getting out of his truck and he began to slow down. She said he stopped and began pushing her towards the passenger door along with her belongings. She informed me she exited the vehicle and he pushed her belongings out. Gough told me Johnson exited the vehicle and came around to where she was and pushed her again. She was not injured and did not fall down. She said she felt worried so she ran out into the lanes of travel on the interstate attempting to flag someone down. A car finally stopped and she ran over to it asking for help. I then spoke with the lady who stopped, Nancy Montenegro. Nancy said she was traveling south on I-164 and saw Johnson and Gough on the side of the road. She then said she started slowing down. She also noticed belongings along the side of the road as well. Nancy said she saw Johnson push Gough. She didn`t think he was trying to push her down, but more of a "get away" type of push. Nancy said Gough then ran out into the middle of the travel lanes and began trying to flag people down. Nancy then stopped to check on her. I then went and spoke with Johnson. Johnson said him and Gough were dating and had been living together for 3-4 weeks. He said they have been arguing lately and had been in an argument while driving. Johnson said he had enough of Gough yelling and told her she could get out if she wasn`t going to stop. He stated he pulled over and she got out of the vehicle and he pushed her belongings out. Johnson denied ever pushing Gough. I asked Gough if she wanted to pursue charges and she said no. We were able to get her belongings and Montenegro provided her with a ride. Gough said she would probably go and stay at the "Y". She was provided with a case number and a domestic violence pamphlet. Johnson was released from the scene and continued to his job. He was also given a case number. This report can be closed. [10/31/2014 14:58, BTTAYLOR, 1593]
